Navigating Dysregulated Clients
This workshop will assist practitioners in enhancing their skills to manage dysregulated and demanding clients, as well as protecting themselves. The workshop will explore:

The science of stress, dysregulation and trauma, relevant to the profession

Ways to identify dysregulation, including subtle presentations (i.e., common presentations in both hyperarousal and hypoarousal)

The concept of ‘high conflict individuals’, and the skills to identify and navigate them

Evidence-based skills in co-regulation and de-escalation (e.g., in response to client anger, traumatic activation, anxiety, persistent demand, and / or perpetual dissatisfaction)

Helpful communication frameworks and language scripts

Techniques in setting and maintaining healthy embodied boundaries
